Jesus Cortez was an aeronautical engineer before becoming a cross categorical teacher at Sennett Middle School. Now, he teaches his students how to solve problems – on tests and in life.
Counselman teaches science at Malcolm Shabazz City High School, one of the district’s alternative schools. Through engaging project-based learning, he encourages students to make connections and build confidence, elevating school into powerful life experiences.
