Important Info From MMSD Food Services

Dear MMSD Families,

I hope the first few days of school have gone well for your family! As you may already know, breakfast and lunch are free for ALL MMSD students this school year under the federal Seamless Summer Option (SSO). I’m writing to share additional food services information families should know for the beginning of the school year.

Free and Reduced Meal Application

Even though breakfast and lunch are free for students, we are encouraging ALL families to complete an application for free and reduced meals (educational benefits) by September 15, 2021.

Qualified families could also receive additional benefits - such as discounted/reduced or waived school fees as well as fees for sports, activities, MSCR programs and more. Even if you don’t qualify for benefits, completed applications directly impact school district funding.

This year, we are using a new application vendor, so the form does look slightly different from prior years. If you need assistance completing an application, please call the Food Services department at (608) 204-4003.

What’s on the Menu?

Did you know you can see what’s for breakfast and lunch via the Nutrislice app? The app makes it easy to review our menu for the entire month, including nutrition information. You can even see pictures of most food items and provide ratings. Download from the Apple store or Google Play. If you prefer, all of this information is also available online.

Meals for Students Participating in Virtual Elementary Option or Madison Promise

Five-day meal bundles will be available for curbside pick-up beginning Monday, September 13. Meals are free, and we are only able to offer meal bundle pick-up for students participating in virtual programs due to federal guidelines. Your child doesn’t need to be present, however, you will need to give your student’s name, home school name, and student ID.  Meals will not be provided for non-school days.

Families can pick up a five-day meal bundle every week  (on Mondays only) from 2 to 4 p.m. Pick up locations:

  • La Follette High School, behind school loading area

  • Memorial High School, door #6

On behalf of the entire MMSD food services staff, we are honored to serve your scholar. Every student should  receive great tasting meals, and have an excellent dining and customer service experience throughout the district.
