“Having grown up in Madison, and having attended MMSD from kindergarten through grade 12, I am excited to return home,” said Dr. Gothard.

The initial calendar for the 2024-2025 school year is now available. Each year, a committee made up of district staff and Madison Teachers Inc. representatives meet over a series of months to finalize the upcoming calendar. Please note, the committee is still in the process of coordinating professional collaboration time (PCT) at high school, and will announce the finalized schedule and plans prior to spring break.

February was Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. CTE programming prepares students for their future and equips them with the skills to be successful as soon as they graduate. Watch how MMSD has transformed high school CTE learning spaces, thanks to the 2020 facilities referendum.

MMSD high school students can attend the Wisconsin Educational Fair at Madison College Truax and visit with admissions representatives from more than 70 colleges.

On the final day of Black History Month, scholars from Sennett Middle School, the majority dressed all in black, marched to neighboring La Follette High School's field house, carrying signs of protest that addressed social issues important to them.
