Counselman teaches science at Malcolm Shabazz City High School, one of the district’s alternative schools. Through engaging project-based learning, he encourages students to make connections and build confidence, elevating school into powerful life experiences.

MMSD’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program introduces students to careers in healthcare, creating a pathway to earn important career certifications. High schoolers gain practical skills and essential caregiving knowledge.

Students received hands-on experience from mentors in architecture, construction, and engineering fields through site visits, guest speakers, and a final design project.
