Upcoming construction activity
- Beginning masonry work on the walls of the elevator addition
- Excavating the exterior concrete equipment pad, which will hold the new mechanical chiller
- Installing underground plumbing
- Removing and replacing old MEP systems with upgraded systems
Classroom demolition has started, with the removal of flooring, ceiling tile, and windows in preparation for new finishes

Once complete, the newly remodeled building that will be Capital High School will feature improved accessibility, including a new elevator and additional bathrooms on each level, a culinary space, a multi-media lab, a specialized academic program space for individualized learning, and a daycare with an exterior play area.
Concrete saw cutting has started for new plumbing lines, which will feed to the classrooms and bathrooms
The parts for the new boiler arrived and will be assembled this week, which will provide hot water for the building
The foundation walls have been poured for the elevator addition and the lower-level enclosure,
which will be followed by masonry work that will create the walls for the future elevator shaft
