We are committed to keeping you informed as we complete construction from the MMSD 2020 facilities referendum.

Renovations are moving along

Construction work for the new Capital High School, formerly the Hoyt Elementary and Madison School and Community Recreation (MSCR) building, is well underway! Over the past couple of months, the entire building has undergone environmental work and significant interior demolition in preparation for upcoming renovation work. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contractors are removing the old systems that will be replaced and upgraded as part of the 2020 Facilities Referendum project.

On the exterior, work on the new elevator addition is underway, with concrete foundations now complete. Over the next few weeks, masonry work on the elevator shaft will bring the addition above ground level. The former lower level outdoor area will also be enclosed to become an additional interior learning space for students.
