Making progress on the final phase of construction

Crews are putting the finishing touches on the first and ground floors. New plumbing, lighting, fire protection, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) work is complete. Workers are installing new ceiling tiles in the classrooms, and new lighting brightens up spaces throughout the school. Crews are also installing flooring and putting on a fresh coat of paint.

As we move into August, workers will put the finishing touches on the final phase of construction. Movers are bringing furniture back to the school, transforming the look of each classroom. In the upcoming weeks, furniture will be installed in the woodshop, and work in the courtyard will be complete.

Updates on current and upcoming work

  • Cleaning and furnishing the first-floor classroom
  • Finishing installing tile in the bathrooms and bubbler areas
  • Installing doors, cabinets, and whiteboards throughout the building

Did You Know? One of the major components of the renovation work at East High School was installing sprinkler heads for fire protection. Crews installed an estimated 50,000 linear feet of new sprinkler pipes and over 3,000 new sprinkler heads throughout the school - that's nearly 9.5 miles of pipes!
