Construction progress in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) is transforming this space from rough beginnings to smooth finishes. There is still quite a bit of work to do in this area, including installing new seating and other finishes, but the space is shaping up very nicely.
Demolition is complete in the technical education wing. Overhead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems are currently being installed. The renovated spaces in the technical education wing will include new acoustic panels, exposed painted ceilings, and updated finishes.
Updates on current and upcoming work
- Installing doors, hardware, theatrical lighting, seating, and acoustic wall panels in the PAC
- Finishing work on the existing stage floor in the PAC
- Continuing MEPF work in the technical education wing
- Starting exterior window demolition in the technical education wing
DID YOU KNOW? The existing wood flooring in the PAC is made from Douglas fir, which features golden tones and tight grain patterns, making it a stunning stage floor. Douglas fir is known for being strong, resistant to decay, and easy to refinish, allowing it to last for generations.
