With August right around the corner, it won’t be long before students return to class – this time to a new home! The construction site is extremely busy with all trades working throughout the building inside and out. The team is reviewing punch list items on the second and third floors. Final flooring and painting are ongoing on the first and second floors. In the commons area, crews are working on the polished concrete. The northeast addition and remodeled existing space are ready for taping and final finishes. Masonry work continues on the south addition and will be followed by metal panels.
External site work is shaping up with curbs, sidewalks, and the first lift of asphalt is now complete. The topsoil and landscaping will follow shortly.

DID YOU KNOW? One of the many features of the new Southside Elementary School building is the addition of many new windows to let in natural daylight. Crews installed a total of 102 external windows throughout the building and a large curtainwall window on the northeast corner.
