Construction Progress Continues

Construction continues at Memorial High School with most of the work during this phase focused on the exterior as the music and technical education additions start to take shape. Inside the building, demolition is complete and new drywall and block walls are being installed in the math classrooms on the second floor and in locker rooms south of the fieldhouse. Crews are also painting and running new electrical and mechanical systems in the existing technical education building.

Steel joists and decking are being installed in the music addition, and foundation walls are now in place in the technical education addition. These walls will connect the existing technical education area to the main school building and will be completed in the winter of 2023.

Upcoming work on building renovations and additions

  • Installing wall frames and drywall in the math and science classrooms on the second floor

  • Building block walls and pouring the concrete slab in the locker rooms south of the fieldhouse

  • Installing waterproofing, stone, and brick in the music addition

  • Starting roofing on the music addition

  • Putting up steel structure and roof joists on the technical education addition

Did you know?

Memorial High School currently has one elevator serving the school. As part of the 2020 Facilities Referendum project, two new elevators will be added – one in the technical education and visual arts addition, and one just east of the spectator gym, which will serve the upper weight room, dance room, and gym.
