Construction crews painted the pool and locker room walls and installed the new acoustic ceiling tiles. Over the next month, they will install the ceramic tile on the walls and pool deck and new epoxy flooring in the locker rooms. Finishes are underway in several other spaces near the locker rooms, including the physical education office and wellness room.
Drywall and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) work started in the library media center (LMC). Separate small group instruction rooms have been framed and MEPF work is ongoing.
Next week, workers will start installing the new rubber flooring in the strength and fitness center.
In the new athletic trainer’s space, crews installed underground plumbing lines and built the concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls.
Upcoming construction activity
- Installing window shades and equipment in the strength and fitness center
- Installing MEPF fixtures in the pool locker rooms
- Taping, painting, and installing the ceiling grid in the LMC
- Starting demolition in the administrative spaces
- Beginning rubber surfacing and striping on the track
Did You Know? Now that the two new concessions buildings are complete, the original concessions stand is being renovated into the new athletic trainer’s space. This new training area will include an office, a full bathroom, and a storage room, and has easy access to the athletic fields, tennis courts, and the gym.
