Over the last month, construction crews have been actively working in several spaces throughout the school, including the planetarium, second-floor dance and weight rooms, small gym, and the Assistant Principals’ offices near the cafeteria. These renovated spaces will be completed this fall.
The auditorium and small theater are scheduled to be completed in October, and the new commons area (formerly the exterior west courtyard) will be complete by the end of the semester.
Outside of the building, sidewalks and landscaping work continue around the school. The remaining exterior work on the south entrance, which includes new sidewalks and planters, is scheduled for the summer of 2024.
Looking ahead, after fall sports wrap up, crews will begin renovations to entry at Mansfield Stadium, which will include new ticketing and concessions areas and remodeled athletic locker rooms.
Upcoming construction activity
- Completing renovations in the upper weight and dance rooms, planetarium, and Assistant Principals’ offices
- Finishing painting and installing railings, carpet, and theater seating in the auditorium
- Painting and installing ceilings in the small theater
DID YOU KNOW? A new corridor was built on the second floor, which connects the dance and weight rooms to the small gym, with elevator access from the first floor. Previously, these spaces were only accessible by individual staircases, with no way to go between these rooms on the second floor. The new corridor will improve traffic flow and accessibility to these spaces.
