Summer is here and construction crews continue to make progress on the new pool and gym addition. On the first level of the new addition, polished concrete and flooring is underway. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire
equipment installation is nearing completion on the first and second floor. The gym equipment is currently being installed and painting is ongoing in the gym and pool.
Outside, the brick and cast stone exterior is wrapping up in the next two weeks and will provide a more finished look to the addition.
Upcoming construction activity
- Starting demolition and environmental work in the first-floor offices and cafeteria
- Installing the steel structure on the new welcome center
- Starting footings and foundations to the new elevation and office addition
- Continuing framing in the second-floor classrooms and offices
DID YOU KNOW? The new pool will add an additional 5 swimming lanes compared to West High School’s previous pool.
The new welcome center stair and elevator shaft are complete.
Framing will be completed this week in the second-floor library and history classrooms.
The new elevator is being installed in the gym/pool addition.
The new gym has final paint ongoing and gym equipment is being installed.
The new addition underpinning concrete is completed, and footings and foundations will begin this week.
Drywall and taping is ongoing in the first-floor administrative offices.
