Putting up exterior walls on the pool and gym addition
Construction crews completed the steel joists and decking for the roof above the pool area. Workers started digging the hole in the ground for the pool this week. Next week, the insulation and roofing installation will begin on the building addition. The exterior walls on the pool addition are currently composed of structural concrete masonry unit (CMU) blocks. Once the CMU blocks are in place, the exterior will be coated with an air/vapor barrier, then finished with brick and precast concrete to match the existing exterior façade.
Inside the pool and gym addition, the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors are installing infrastructure that will be covered by walls, ceilings, and floors.
Continuing third-floor renovations
Work is progressing in the third-floor renovation areas, specifically in the biology and science classrooms and in the bathrooms. In the bathrooms, wall framing and plumbing pipes have been installed. Starting in mid-March, the third-floor renovations will also include music spaces. By the end of April, all third-floor renovations will be complete.
