Renovations Are Taking Shape
Next week, workers will begin working on interior finishes, including installing lab casework, flooring, drywall, painting, ceramic tiling, and much more!
New bleachers in Stevens Gym are now installed
Making progress on the additions
Construction crews have been putting in many hours working on the new pool and gym additions. Since last month, over 20,000 square feet of concrete slab was poured. Next, workers will begin building the concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls. In addition, thousands of pounds of structural steel are being installed, which will support the second floor of the addition. This rapid progress requires massive coordination between all the trades on this project, especially the steel, masonry, and concrete contractors.
On the horizon are the precast concrete slabs, which are scheduled to arrive in late October. These slabs will support the floor of the new gym and the pool balcony.
Work continues in renovated science lab spaces where walls are being prepped for new casework
