This week marks the first full week of summer, which means construction is actively progressing at West High School. Seven phases of work inside the building are slated to be complete by the end of the summer.

Making progress on site

  • Demolition has started outside the building on the basketball courts. Six excavators are onsite removing debris and digging for the new athletic addition.

  • Crews are cutting holes in the exterior brick walls of the current gym space for windows, which will provide more natural light for the future classroom spaces.

  • The site is being prepped for utilities, which will be installed throughout the current parking lot area.

Continuing interior demolition

  • Demolition activities are continuing throughout the building in the old gym and locker room spaces.

  • Drywall is being installed in the areas where the old gym and library were to create additional classrooms.
