Discover Our School Communities
The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is comprised of 52 schools and serves over 25,000 students, making it the second-largest school district in Wisconsin. The district boasts an 87% graduation rate and is dedicated to ensuring student success.
MMSD is organized into four attendance areas: the East Attendance Area, La Follette Attendance Area, Memorial Attendance Area, and West Attendance Area. Each attendance area offers unique opportunities designed to support student learning and development, with the shared goal of preparing every student to be college, career and future ready.
Whether you are enrolling your student in one of our exceptional schools or exploring a new career opportunity, MMSD and the city of Madison offers many resources and opportunities to help you and your student thrive.

Community Support for MMSD
Voters overwhelmingly supported both referenda on the November 5 ballot. The results show that our community continues to be committed to investing in our students. We look forward to engaging with the community to make Madison a destination school district.
Mad for Reading
MMSD is committed to amplifying the brilliance of all students. The "Mad for Reading" program was launched to deepen the joy, excitement and fundamental importance of literacy and bi-literacy. Literacy is not only a gateway to understanding and interacting with the world, it is the core of everything we do.
