This year's African-American History Challenge Bowl will be held on Saturday, April 1, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium at the Doyle Administration Building. This is an educational, African- American history competition between teams of Madison middle school students, in a quiz show format. The event is produced by the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc., and the winning team will advance to the National Competition taking place June 7-10, 2017 in New Orleans, LA.
Leopold and Kennedy elementary schools will be holding four-year-old kindergarten (4K) classes in the fall. If you live in one of those attendance areas and would like your child to attend there, you can call the enrollment office at 608-663-4957 to switch to your school.
The Madison Metropolitan School District has expanded intensive support around literacy, building community supports and partnerships in community schools, successfully piloting a new math curriculum and expanding use of technology in the first half of the school year. These and other accomplishments are included in the district’s mid-year review of progress for the 2016-17 school year.
