Wright Middle School teamWright students Jaden W., Micah A., Pawan B., and their coach Robert Kilburg were recognized by the Board of Education on Monday, October 30, 2017 for their 1st place win at the 2017 African-American History Challenge Bowl National Championship! The event, which took place from June 7-10 in New Orleans, was sponsored by 100 Black Men of America.

The African-American History Challenge Bowl is an educational program designed to enhance the study of African-American history and encourages pride, self-worth and an appreciation of African-American legacy and culture.

The 100 Black Men of Madison provided support for this team and has provided opportunities to MMSD students to study African-American history for the last 23 years.

Congratulations to the African-American History Challenge Bowl National Champions for their outstanding accomplishment while representing themselves, their school and the district! And a big thank you to the 100 BMM for their continued support!
