Building Services
The Madison Metropolitan School District has over 45 buildings containing more than 4,500,000 square feet of building space and 750 acres of land. There are 32 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, 5 high schools, 2 stadiums, a school forest, administrative and support facilities with a combined replacement value in excess of three-quarter of a billion dollars with an average age exceeding 50 years.

Mission Statement
The mission of Building Services is to effectively manage, maintain, and upgrade the buildings and grounds of the Madison Metropolitan School District in order to provide the highest quality, energy efficient environment for education.

Sustainability
MMSD is committed to sustainability efforts. Energy efficiency and sustainability are also core focus areas in MMSD’s 2024 facilities referendum work.
