We are a school district that values and celebrates diversity unequivocally. We are proud to be home to a beautiful population of students, families and staff of different races, faiths, national origins, immigration status, political viewpoints, abilities, sexual orientation and gender identity. Every student and family is a valued member of our community.

We feel it is especially important now to voice our unconditional support for groups of students, staff and families whose rights and protections are coming increasingly under threat from rhetoric, decisions and actions at the national level.

We stand by our immigrant students and families

All students and families, regardless of immigration status, are important members of our community and we are committed to ensuring that they are always welcome and safe in our schools. Based on concerns we have heard, we've compiled resources that can help families find the information and services they need.

We stand by our students of color

As educators, we cannot be neutral when we see racism and hate in our country. It is our role to always speak out, condemn racism and oppression in all of its forms and disrupt the inequities we see in our country and in our own school system. To our students of color, we see you, we love you and we support you. And we will continually work to improve ourselves and take action on your behalf.

We stand by our students with disabilities and their families

We will continue to staunchly protect the rights of students with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). We are committed to ensuring that all students with disabilities are engaged in high-quality curriculum and instruction within inclusive educational environments, leading to deep learning and readiness for college, career, and community.

We stand by our trans students, staff and families

We take seriously our responsibility to provide safe and nondiscriminatory environments for students of all gender identities. This includes our practice of allowing students to use facilities consistent with their gender identity.

We will not waver in our commitment to this and all other inclusive practices in our schools. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring our schools are safe and welcoming environments for all.
