Mathematics
It is our privilege to provide the highest level of support to schools and educators in the areas of professional development, district resources, in-classroom coaching and assessment development.
The mathematics team, made up of the mathematics teacher leaders and the mathematics coordinator, works in partnership with school and district leaders to build a coherent, focused, and engaging K-12 program that meets the needs of all learners.
4K-12 MMSD Math Course Pathways
MMSD’s pathways represent our commitment to the critical learning of grade level standards necessary to build a strong foundation for high school (and beyond) mathematics. Students are required to complete 3.0 credits of high school math for graduation (Board Policy 3540).
The table below illustrates common pathways that can lead to advanced math coursework in high school. The table shows only some examples of possible high school course pathways and should not be used to replace the course planning that students do with their families and school staff.
For students identified as Advanced Learners, individualized grade-level acceleration may be an option, based on their specific academic needs and in consultation with the Advanced Learning Department.
