All Madison Metropolitan School District schools opened on Tuesday, September 3rd for the 2013-14 school year and school lunches began on that date. All elementary students began classes September 3rd. Only 6th graders and 9th graders report on September 3rd.
The regular starting and dismissal times for each school are listed below.
School schedule adjustments for 2013-14
Because of school closings during extreme cold earlier this year, we have made minor adjustments to our school schedules to make up time. All elementary schools have added six minutes to the end of each school day. Early start schools will dismiss at 2:38 p.m. (1:06 p.m. on Mondays), and late start schools will dismiss at 3:23 p.m. (1:51 p.m. on Mondays). La Follette High School added four minutes to the beginning and end of the school day, so regular days now run from 8:16 a.m. to 3:34 p.m. Click here for more information.
Parents should note:
- Elementary schools are dismissed early each Monday
- Middle and high schools are released one hour early on each Monday during a full week of school (La Follette's dates will vary)
Note: All elementary schools (grades K-5) will follow Monday's dismissal schedule on September 3 and 4 (1 p.m. or 1:45 p.m.)
September 3, 2012 is the first day of 4K AM classes only. PM classes begin September 5th. 4K site schedules (early and late) can be found here.
