The Family, Youth & Community Engagement Department is providing district support to the African American Parent Leadership Council (AAPLC) and a new Multicultural Parent Group, which focuses on ELL families. Both groups bring parents/caregivers from across the district together to connect with one another and build their capacity. Topics will be identified by the members of those groups.

Please work with your staff to encourage families to attend by sharing the flyers available below. Childcare, light food and transportation is available for both groups. Note: This information will also be included in the staff and family newsletters.

  • The African American Parent Leadership Council is open to all parents who are raising African American students in the District. The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at JC Wright Middle School from 6-7:30pm. Here is a flyer you can share with your families.
