Dear MMSD Families,

Today, the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is announcing its intention to return students to in-person instruction, five days a week, for the start of 2021-2022 school year.  In addition to a full return to in-person learning as the default instructional model this fall, MMSD will provide options for families who prefer virtual learning for their secondary students.

The decision comes as local data trends of positive COVID-19 cases continue a steep and sustained downward trajectory, while the number of fully vaccinated individuals in the Madison community continues to climb steadily upward. In combination, these key factors, among other improving pandemic metrics, support a safe return to the classroom for all students and grade levels for the 2021-2022 school year.
