Leopold's New Walking School Bus Aims to Grow Attendance Rates
A small group of volunteers is making a big impact at Aldo Leopold Elementary School! This month, staff kicked off a "walking school bus," in neighborhoods near the school. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, a staff member walks a route with stops at multiple intersections where kids can join on their way to school.
Leopold social workers Danny Roller and Maggie Smith said they hope by bringing the school into the community, more families will feel connected to their school, and hopefully result in increased attendance rates.
