Amanda World has recently been hired as the Community Schools Resource Coordinator for Mendota Elementary. She brings to the role years of experience in community work, having spent the past 15 years dedicated to this field in the Madison area. Ms. World has previously served as a Director at the local Boys & Girls Club, a Coordinator for Girls Inc. programming; a Manager at YWCA Madison; and most recently, working with justice-involved youth and families in Dane County. She is also a long-time mentor through Big Brothers & Big Sisters. "I feel so very fortunate to have this opportunity. I look forward to making meaningful connections with families and creating new partnerships. Our scholars are so important!" said Ms. World.
In her free time, Ms. World enjoys spending time with her family. She is a mother and a wife who loves music, cooking, community, spending time outdoors, comedy, reading, cycling, traveling, and being a mom to her two amazing daughters.
