Meet Brenda, Volunteer at Orchard Ridge

“Miss Brenda” has been volunteering at Orchard Ridge Elementary School since 2019. After a successful career in finance, she now supports 1st grade students with math in small groups every Wednesday.
“Brenda spends at least two hours every week sharing her gift, working with all of our students, especially the ones who are in need of extra social-emotional support,” said Ms. Christy, a first grade teacher at Orchard Ridge. “She is caring, kind and patient - providing love and holding students to high expectations. Brenda helps students see their abilities, provides them with confidence and is a large part of students’ success.”
Community Schools wouldn’t be what they are today without dedicated volunteers like Miss Brenda.
