Six Memorial Seniors to Attend Famed HBCU Tennessee State University

Tennessee State University (TSU) will be home to six graduating Memorial High School graduates this fall!

Located in Nashville, Tenn., TSU is a historically Black university founded in 1912, known for its top research programs and active student communities. Notable alumni including Oprah Winfrey, Wilma Rudolph, and Memorial Multicultural Student Coordinator and BSU advisor Andrea Jones, all share TSU as an alma mater. Before long, these bright and outgoing Memorial Spartans will also join that list:

  • Terell Aka
  • Taliyah Dais
  • Jakobe Godbolt
  • Ramaun Harris
  • Antonio Thomas
  • Anthony Ward

“My daughter joked I’m brainwashing the students since all six ‘just happen to be’ going to my college,” Jones said. “But really it’s because these kids are so smart and so deserving, and TSU is a great spot for them to continue to grow.”
