Summer Arts Academy

Is your student interested in learning more about different Arts styles - such as African drumming, acting, or acrylic painting? With a special focus on expanding options for our middle-level students in our pilot year MMSD Summer Arts Academy’s wide range of programming has something for everyone.

The MMSD Summer Arts Academy offers amazing learning opportunities for MMSD students in several visual and performing arts areas. Offerings (Kindergarten-Grade 4) are being provided in this pilot year as a residency program brought to existing MSCR SREC aftercare programs, and a focus on expanded offerings for grades 6-12 are offered as a first-come, first serve menu at two MMSD middle school sites.

In partnership with Madison Community Members, Business and Industry, and local Artists, we seek to offer robust arts programming in performing arts, digital music and media production, acting/drama and theater, and more.

Running in partnership with MMSD Summer Semester and MSCR offerings, MMSD’s Summer Arts Academy programming is geared towards self-expression, self-identity and growing students' interests in arts experiences through unique, inspiring learning opportunities, and providing improved access by ensuring all of our programming and transportation is free of charge for registered students.
