African Drumming & Hip Hop Electronic Music Beat

We are excited that Alida LaCosse - MMSD Music Educator at JC Wright middle school, will be offering African Drumming & Hip Hop Electronic Music Beat Making this summer. During this opportunity, scholars will have access to African Drumming history and styles - this will be integrated into an opportunity to learn more about how to create and work with Hip Hop electronic beats. Participants will be able to create and record their own ideas with opportunities to share.

  • Location: Wright Middle School
  • Days: Monday-Friday
  • Dates: June 20-July 8 (weeks 1-3)
  • Sessions: PM Session One 1:00-2:15, PM Session Two 2:30-3:45
  • Note: Students not enrolled in scheduled courses during the afternoon will be assigned to Open Art Studio while awaiting transportation home. The class capacity is 25 students.
