MMSD Summer Resource Page
The need to support one another doesn't take a summer break. We're excited to empower our MMSD community with tools, resources and information for summer enrichment.
Stay in touch. During summer break, you can still reach your school with questions or concerns. The best way to do this is by using the Let's Talk feature on your school's website (look for the red "Contact Us" box in the bottom-right corner).
If you need to reach the school district office, use Let'sTalk
MMSD is proud to announce our city wide initiative "Mad for Reading" to amplify the joy and excitement and fundamental importance of literacy. Join the movement.
Summer Family Resources:
Although MMSD schools will no longer be issuing work permits, they will be available through the Department of Workforce Development's Equal Rights Division. Learn more about its new online work permit application tool.
The District and City are again partnering to provide MMSD students currently in grades 6–12 with free bus passes! Passes are good for use throughout the summer!
Join us this summer for a FREE immersive Career and Technical Education (CTE) Exploration and Skill Development Program designed exclusively for rising 6-8 grade MMSD students.

The summer program offers children nutritious meals when school is not in session. Children can eat for free, Monday - Friday, starting June 20.
When School’s Out,
Summer EBT is Here to Help!
Summer EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) is an income-based program that helps families buy food for their children while school is out. Wisconsin will send $120 for each child who qualifies. Benefits can be used anywhere that FoodShare benefits are accepted, including most grocery stores, many convenience stores and some farmer’s markets.
The heat is on! Is school off?
We want you to know how we will make decisions about closing school due to extreme heat during Summer Semester. Student safety is our top priority, and we always follow National Weather Service guidelines to make decisions. Learn more about MMSD's weather decisions.
