Madison school families tour STEM Center at Madison College

About 34 families from East and La Follette high schools recently toured the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Center at Madison College. The families and their students were invited to learn about the Early College STEM Academy (ECSA). The Academy is a partnership between Madison schools and Madison College designed to expand access to college courses in STEM fields and to increase opportunities for students to earn college credit in high school at no cost to them or their families.

The Academy will begin in fall with a small group of students from East and La Follette. It will be expanded in the following years.

How are we doing? School climate survey coming January 29

We want to ensure our students and families feel connected to and engaged in their school community. We are conducting a survey that focuses on school climate. Thriving schools require environments that are vibrant, engaging, and nurturing to the students, staff, and families within them, and we believe measuring school climate will help us know and grow those environments over time.

Watch for an email or text message soon from your child's school with instructions on how to take the survey.
