Friends of MSCR is a non-profit organization, providing financial support to Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) programs and services. MSCR's proud history of service began in 1926, and Friends of MSCR is committed to ensuring that MSCR public recreation programs remain accessible and affordable. Each December Board members host a breakfast and present staff with grant awards.

Proceeds from the annual golf outing, online auction and donations to Friends of MSCR help fund these 2016 grants:

  • 3 V 3 Basketball Tournament
  • Produce a 50+ Fitness video
  • Replace murals Allied Learning Center
  • Supplies for Arts Camps and Indoor Playground
  • Speakers for Staff Professional Development
  • Gymnastic equipment
  • Stove and supplies for Hawthorne Elementary Afterschool Program
  • Unique Fitness club at MSCR Afterschool Program at West HS
  • Leadership Recognition Banquet for MSCR afterschool students at Lake View Elementary
  • Media Studio for MSCR Meadowood Neighborhood Center
  • New pontoon boat motor for the MSCR pontoon program
  • New signs and equipment for Outreach programs
  • MSCR Northside Afterschool Service Learning Project
  • Summer Recreation & Enrichment Centers Outdoor Education Access
  • MSCR Female Empowerment Group at West HS
  • Fund West High Drill Nation Afterschool Club
  • Arts & Enrichment program signs
  • $10,000 to the Friends of MSCR Endowment Fund at the Madison Community Foundation
