Benefits Enrollment Information

If you are regular employee that works at least 19 hours per week or at least a 50 percent contract, you will be eligible for benefits. If you have questions about your benefits eligibility, please contact the Benefits Helpdesk (benefits@madison.k12.wi.us or (608) 663-1692).

Benefits

Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, voluntary life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance (for eligible employee types), and long-term care insurance. In addition to the insurance plans, MMSD offers retirement savings plans (WRS state pension and 403(b) plans), a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program and a wellness program.

How to Enroll in Benefits

Health, dental, vision, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, long term care insurance and flexible spending account coverage is effective the first day of the month following your first day on the job.

Enrollment must be competed within 30 days of that date online at:

Standard.BenSelect.com

If you do not enroll within the 30 day window, you will have waived your rights to enroll in coverage as a new hire. You may enroll/change your health, dental, vision, short-term disability and flexible spending accounts annually during Open Enrollment (always October 15 to November 15), or if you experience a mid-year qualified life event.

Your User name is your employee "b" number without the b (7XXXXX); and your PIN is the last four digits of your social security number followed by the last to digits of your birth year (SSSSYY). For help with the online enrollment process, you can refer to the Enrollment User Guide in the Benefits Information box on this page.
