Gifted education week is November 12-18!
In MMSD, the Advanced Learning Department seeks to develop the talent of students with the potential to achieve at high levels. We are working diligently to create and implement systems and structures that fully support the identification and development of all students, and in particular African American and Hispanic/Latino students, with potential advanced learning needs.
It is critical that the AL Department not only identify and support students who are already achieving at high academic levels, but also students who have the potential to do so when provided with both support and opportunity.
Visit this site to learn more about Advanced Learning in MMSD.
You can also attend our first Advanced Learning Advisory Committee Meeting (offered twice for location convenience) on 11/29 at East High School or 12/6 at West High School from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
We hope to see you there!
*Note: This group is separate from the Advanced Learning Teacher Advisory Group (ALTAG). The Advanced Learning Advisory Committee (ALAC) is open to anyone - parents, teachers, staff, community, etc. The Advanced Learning Teacher Advisory Group (ALTAG) is only open to teachers.
