3.37 Privacy of Work Spaces, Including Desks, Lockers, etc.

Employees shall have no expectation of privacy with respect to any item or document stored in or on District-owned property, which includes, but is not limited to, desks, filing cabinets, mailboxes, lockers, tables, shelves, and other storage spaces in or out of the classroom. Accordingly, the District may at any time and in its sole discretion conduct a search of such property, regardless of whether the searched areas or items of furniture are locked or unlocked. Except items not in plain view and contained within personal property (e.g., purse, satchel, wallet, coats, backpack, etc.) may only be searched in accordance with applicable state and federal law which generally includes a warrant.
