3.47 Wellness

The District shall encourage healthy behaviors by providing voluntary wellness programs, educational opportunities and a healthy work environment for employees.

Notice Regarding Wellness Program: The District is required by law to maintain the privacy and security of personally identifiable health information. Although the wellness program and the District may use aggregate information it collects to design a program based on identified health risks in the workplace, the District shall not disclose any of personal information except as necessary to respond to a request for a reasonable accommodation needed to participate in the wellness program, or as expressly permitted by law. Medical information that personally identifies employees that is provided in connection with the wellness program shall not be provided to supervisors and shall not be used to make decisions regarding employment.

Discrimination in employment because of medical information provided to the District as part of participating in the wellness program is prohibited. Retaliation of any kind against employees opting not to participate is also prohibited.
