Congratulations to students from Van Hise and Randall - Annelise A. won Honorable Mention at the state level for the picture book contest and Randall's Sela A. won a 2nd place literary award and a statewide illustrator award.

The Mary Jo Nettesheim Memorial Literary Competition is a fiction book writing contest open to Wisconsin students in grades 3 -8. Nineteen Delta Kappa Gamma chapters from around the state submitted 98 of their first place books which were selected from 1,540 entries competing at the local level of this competition. All books were judged for their literary and illustration qualities. Student authors of winning entries in this competition received awards ranging from cash, trophies, plaques, medals, ribbons and certificates.

The purpose of this competition, which is in its thirty-second year, is to encourage young writers/illustrators by giving them an audience for their writing and recognizing and rewarding their creative talents.
