To help spread a little cheer this holiday season, several CREWs participated in a program called Shoebox Gifts for Kids. Small groups of our students put together shoe boxes full of gifts for homeless and less fortunate kids in our community. Each group chose either a boy or a girl and a specific age range. Then they decided which items they would purchase to put in the box. The items included basic necessities and/or school supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bottles, socks, gloves, coloring books, pens/pencils, notebooks, hats, brushes, etc.). Students then worked together to wrap the boxes (for some, this was quite the challenge!) and then we dropped them all off to be delivered to families by Christmas day. What a joy it was to see our students work together in order to give back to their community and spread a bit of holiday cheer!

CREW allows students to build positive connections with their peers and allows for relationship building, academic progress monitoring, and character development.
