At REAP, our school lesson series have begun, and we are looking for volunteer support both with Nutrition Education and in our Chef in the Classroom Programs. For descriptions of these programs, please see the attached Volunteer Opportunities document.
This winter, we are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to attending our six week lesson series to volunteer, rather than lend a hand with single lessons. This way, students see the same familiar faces each week, and volunteers get to participate in the lesson series from start to finish, including the final Farmer in the Classroom lesson. We do have a few opportunities to volunteer in the classroom for a one-time lesson.
We are looking for volunteers for the following opportunities:
Farm to School Lesson Series:
Lake View Elementary, 5th grade class, 2:25pm-3:10pm, Tuesdays (1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28)
Falk Elementary, 2nd grade class, 1:30pm-2:30pm, Thursdays (2/23, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 2/30)
Lindbergh Elementary, 1st grade, 2:15-3:00pm, Thursdays (3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6)
One-Time Lesson Opportunities:
Lake View Elementary, February 21st at 2:25-3:10
Sandburg Elementary, February 23rd, at 10:00-10:45
If you're available for any of these lesson series, please contact me directly at this e-mail address. Volunteer spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
