2017-2018 enrollment information

The 2017-2018 school year is almost here, and that means it's time to enroll. To start the process, visit mmsd.org/enroll.

If you need help with the online enrollment application or don't have internet access at home, you may complete the online enrollment process at a community center or library in your neighborhood. Sites provide computers, printers and friendly staff to answer your questions. View the list of neighborhood centers that will be able to assist you with online enrollment.

New-to-district 4-year-old kindergarten (4K) students, new and continuing 5-year-old kindergarten (5K) students

If your 4K or 5K student is new to MMSD for the 2017-2018 school year and:

  • You did NOT complete the 2017-2018 online application prior to August 1, you must enroll at mmsd.org/enroll and turn in their verification paperwork at your child's school on one of the dates listed below.
  • You DID complete the 2017-2018 online application prior to August 1:
    • If you have already turned in your verification paperwork there is nothing for you to do.
    • If you have not turned in your verification paperwork, ensure that you turn it in at your child's school on one of the dates listed below.

Verification paperwork includes: proof of age (birth certificate, health record or other official records), proof of address (gas/electric bill, lease, mortgage), and immunization records (if you did not allow access to Wisconsin Immunization Registry).

You also need to pay your fees online, at the school office in person, or by sending a check or cash with the student. If you wish to apply for free or reduced-price meals, you also need to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meals application

Visit mmsd.org/4k for any questions about 4k.

Visit mmsd.org/kinder for any questions about 5k.

All families: Need help paying for your child's school meals?

We serve meals through the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Find out if you qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Families need to reapply each year.  Apply for free and reduced-price school meals on the website.

Elementary and middle school students

If your elementary or middle school student:

 Is new to MMSD or

Attended MMSD and needs to have an address change and/or date of birth verified

You must enroll at mmsd.org/enroll and turn in their verification paperwork at your child's school on one of the dates listed below.

If your elementary or middle school student is a continuing MMSD student and has no changes to key enrollment information, you may complete the enrollment process entirely online and have the option not to attend your school's enrollment day.

Learn more about paperless enrollment.

Schedules will be available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for middle and elementary school students on August 31st and for high school students on September 7th.

High school students

Whether you are new to MMSD or continuing from one grade to the next, you must enroll at mmsd.org/enroll. If you are new to MMSD or have changes to key enrollment information, you need to turn in your verification paperwork at your school on one of the dates listed below.

High school students are still required to go to school during their assigned enrollment days, even if you complete the enrollment process online and have no changes to key enrollment information. (High school students may attend the enrollment day without a parent/guardian.)

Enrollment dates and times

For families who are required to attend, you may visit mmsd.org/enroll to find a full schedule of enrollment dates and times. If you are not able to make it to your designated enrollment date/time, you may contact your school on or after August 16th to make other arrangements.

Later dismissal times for the 2017-2018 school year

We are dedicating two additional days to staff professional development days for a total of six. They are scheduled approximately every six weeks.

To compensate for these days, we are adding five minutes of instruction to the end of the school day, with the exception of any early release days lunch is not served.  Find your school's start and dismissal times on our website.
