Are you interested in being part of the Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Work Group for the 2017-2018 school year? Our focus this year will be understanding and strengthening our lens of equity with an emphasis on removing barriers that exist for students of color, students with disabilities, and ELLs.
The Teacher Advisory Work Group will be comprised of teachers and support personnel who are well respected for their experience and expertise and who can offer the superintendent a variety of viewpoints. There is an expectation that members of this group will disseminate information back to the larger teacher community and become strategic agents for change.
If you are interested in participating, make sure to fill out the application before time runs out! Applications are due by Friday, September 15 at 4 pm. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be in a position of employment for a minimum of one year.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to school improvement as evidenced by involvement at a school and community level.
Be willing to engage in constructive discussion about the implementation of the Strategic Framework.
Principal endorsement is encouraged but not required.
There is an expectation that Teacher Advisory members will disseminate information back to the larger teacher community and become strategic agents for change.
Selected teachers/support personnel will be announced on October 4. The first meeting is scheduled for October 18.
If you were a member last year you and are interested in continuing you will need to complete an application and be selected for the 2017-2018 Advisory Group.
