We are seeking strong candidates who are college-aged to work with the youth in our AVID and AVID/TOPS programs. AVID is a college readiness system that serves approximately 1300 students across our district. AVID aims to provide college and career readiness to students in the academic middle, who are traditionally underrepresented on a college campus. Tutors would work with small collaborative study groups and act as facilitators as AVID students work through questions that they have from their content classes. The opportunities available would allow AVID tutors to work closely with students in 7th -12th grades.

This is a wonderful part-time opportunity for college students to engage in the Madison community, earn service learning hours, and/or get a sense of what it might be like to work in education. This is a paid position, but we readily accept those looking to volunteer their time as well.
