Crescent Moon Tilt: Fall Crescent Setting (Madison, WI)
The following animation shows a simulation of the crescent moon setting as seen from Madison, Wisconsin (USA). Time has been sped up 2000 times. Note that these changes (stars and moon setting) are caused by the fact that the Earth is spinning. The animation starts at sunset. Notice how soon this 3-day-old crescent sets after sunset. Compare this to the spring crescent.
