REQUESTING a PLANETARIUM RESERVATION:

FAST FACTS:

• NEW FEES for 2025-2026 academic year!
• The planetarium is open during normal school hours and follows the Madison Metropolitan School District calendar .
• After school and evening reservations may be possible.
• WE CLOSE FOR ALL MMSD BREAKS (Including summer).
• Programs are ~1 hour long, from bus drop off to reloading.

Easiest way to plan for and make a reservation!

1. Look at program descriptions, and chose a program.
2. Find a time , event blocks on our public calendar are existing reservations, open slots are possible times for your reservation. NOTE:  You do need to account for at least 15 minutes between programs. We recommend you view the calendar using the Week view.
3. Fill out the Reservation Request Form to the right.
4. Yow will get an email stating that we received the  request.  NOTE:  I am just one person, so it can take 3-5 business days to process your request!
5. A confirmation email with details and planning information is sent when the request is approved.
6. If you absolutely can not find an open time slot that works... fill out the request and describe what is needed, sometimes I can flex a scheduled block of time to create an opening.
7. Make your transportation arrangements. Note that the planetarium is part of Nature Net and you may qualify for a full or partial reimbursement for your bus costs through the Nature Express program.  Applications for fall term trips have a deadline of September 19th!!  Applications for spring term trips will also have an early deadline... so apply NOW!

FEES/COSTS for MMSD Planetarium Programs:

• MMSD and MADISON 4K-12 GROUPS during the school day
  • NO FEE for MMSD!
  • NO FEE is for school day MMSD/Madison 4K-12 visits!
• ALL OTHER DAYTIME GROUP RESERVATIONS (this is per program if doing multiple in a day)
  • $6.00 per participant and adult chaperones
  • Teachers FREE of charge
  • $102.00 is the MINIMUM charge
  • Pay by check or online payment
• AFTER 4 PM END TIMES, Evening and/or Weekend Group Reservations
  • $6.00 per participant
  • Children's program have 1 Chaperone/10 kids FREE of charge
  • $150.00 is the MINIMUM charge
  • Pay by check or online payment

Need to pay by check?

Make it payable to "Madison Metropolitan School District" or "MMSD", please put the date and time of the program in the check's memo area.
