Fast Facts:

  • The planetarium is available during normal school hours and follows the Madison Metropolitan School District calendar , this means we are CLOSED during all break periods.
  • After school and evening programs can sometimes be arranged. We are closed during all school breaks, including summer.
  • Programs are ~1 hour long, from bus drop off to reloading.

Easiest, fastest way to make reservations!

  1. Look at program descriptions and choose a program that fits the needs of your group.
  2. Find an opening, events on the schedule are reservations, open slots are non-designated times and are possible times. Plan for 15 minutes between programs, and a lunch break. We recommend you view the calendar using the Week view.
  3. Fill out the Reservation Request Form to the right.
  4. Your request will show up on our calendar as pending and you will receive an email stating that we received the  request.
  5. A confirmation email is sent when the request is approved.
  6. New requests are typically confirmed in 3-5 days.

FEES for Planetarium Programs (the $$$ details):

  • MMSD and Madison K-12 groups during the school day
    • $0.50 per student
    • Teachers and adult chaperones free
    • $12.50 is the MINIMUM charge
    • Pay by check made out to Madison Metro School District
    • $2.50 per students and adult chaperones
    • Teachers only remain free of charge
    • $25.00 is the MINIMUM charge
    • Pay by check or online payment

If you need to mail a check, it should be  payable to "Madison Metropolitan School District" , please put the date of the program in the check's memo area.
