Professional Learning and Leadership Development
The purpose of the Leadership Development Department is to provide high quality professional learning to instructional leaders, and to promote great professional learning for a thriving workforce and continuous improvement across MMSD.
The key work streams of the Leadership Department are:
- Implementing a new evaluation system that includes a systematized professional development & communication plan.
- Providing ongoing leadership professional development for principals, assistant principals, SBLTs, instructional coaches, and instructional central office leaders.
- Providing ongoing professional learning for new educators to MMSD.
- Implementing a professional learning management system that includes a professional learning foundational training series and professional learning quality control process.

Leadership Development definition of Equity: to provide foundational professional learning for instructional leadership of MMSD priorities and provide differentiated support based on each school’s context.
