How many credits do I need to earn a diploma from MMSD?
Students must earn 22 credits to earn an MMSD diploma at East, LaFollette, Memorial, West, and Shabazz.
In some cases, that number may be different if the student transferred in from another district, or has an Individual Education Plan that identifies a different graduation plan.

Are There Specific Courses I need to take to earn an MMSD diploma?
- English - 4 credits
- Math - 3 credits
- Science - 3 credits
- Social Studies - 3 credits
- PE - 1.5 credits
- Health - .5 credit
- Humanities - 1 credit (Art, Music, Theatre, World Languages)
- Financial Literacy - .5 credit
- Classes of 2025-2027: Personal Finance, Independent Living, Economics, or AP Microeconomics may satisfy;
- Classes of 2028 & beyond: Personal Finance or Independent Living may satisfy
- Additional electives: 5.5
- Civics Exam (65% or higher)

It is essential that you monitor your credits to ensure that you are on track to graduate on time. You can do this by viewing your unofficial transcript in Infinite Campus (under Documents).
