Dr. Gregory DeMuri is a specialist in pediatric infectious diseases and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of medicine and public health. His interest is in respiratory infections and school health and serves as a primary investigator on a research study for the safe return of children with medical complexity. He has served as the MMSD medical consultant for the past 25 years.

Dr. Thomas Friedrich is Professor of Virology at University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. For over 20 years he has studied the ways that viruses like HIV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2 evolve, spread, and cause disease. Since the beginning of the pandemic he has been a member of international scientific panels on COVID-19 organized by the World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, and CDC. His daughters attend school in MMSD.

 

Sheryl L. Henderson, M.D., Ph.D.

Sheryl Henderson, MD, PhD is a specialist in infectious diseases in children at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She has studied viruses, how they spread and how they impact individuals and communities for over 25 years. Her main area of expertise is in caring for families living with HIV.  Since the beginning of the COVID-19 era she has worked diligently within the Madison community to provide accurate information about COVID-19 and the vaccines. Dr. Henderson is also an MMSD graduate (a Spartan) and is currently an MMSD parent.

 

Ellen R. Wald, MD

Dr. Ellen Wald is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Wald is a specialist in pediatric infectious diseases which she has practiced for more than 40 years. Her area of research is infections of the respiratory tract. She has been working with MMSD since the beginning of the pandemic and is doing research on diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2.
