Marggie Banker’s presentation to the group centered around the current thinking and delivery model for professional development in MMSD with SBLT Leadership Institute’s quarterly, job-alike sessions for principals/assistant principals/Instructional coaches/support staff on-going and specific high impact training, such as Developmental Design and Adaptive Schools offered regularly. After clarifying understanding, table groups discussed likes/dislikes/changes regarding the current structure and thoughts about different ways to make professional development more relevant and meaningful. There was significant consensus about the importance of job-alike PD, especially for those who might be the only person in a building doing a specific job.
