Engineering Student Learning Experiences in STEM
July 17-21 @ Edgewood College, Deming Way Campus
The Engineering Student Learning Experiences in STEM course will provide opportunities for teachers to “engineer” STEM project-based learning activities that incorporate engineering design practices with math and science learning to strengthen students’ 21st century STEM skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication. To achieve these outcomes, professional development will lead to an increase in teachers’ knowledge and pedagogical skills in teaching engineering design connected with math and science content. With an emphasis on improving student engagement, this course will ultimately lead to more hands-on, innovative learning experiences and increased student achievement in STEM as teachers will be better able to support student learning of 21st century skills.
